KUALA LUMPUR: The Omicron B.1.1529 variant was the dominant Covid-19 strain in Malaysia over the last four weeks.
Institute for Clinical Research (ICR) director Dr Kalai Peariasamy while citing the data shared by Medriva, urged the people to report self-test results on MySejahtera application to slow spread of Covid-19.
His tweet read: "The #Omicron (B.1.1.529)-variant (100%) was the dominant Covid19 strain in #Malaysia over the last 4 weeks. +1555 daily average in new confirmed cases in last 7 days. https://charts.medriva.com/country/MY
"Report self test results in #MySj. Helps identify and slow spread of #Covid19."
In a follow-up tweet, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin also echoed Dr Kalai's advice, reminding the public to report their self-test results to his ministry.
"Please report your self-test results (+ve or -ve) via @my_sejahtera. Self-test results are an important part of ongoing surveillance by @KKMPutrajaya," he said.
