SUNGAI PETANI: A month-old boy died after suffering breathing difficulties at his home in Taman Merbau, Tikam Batu here, early today.
Kuala Muda police chief Assistant Commissioner Zaidy Che Hassan said the baby's parents noticed he had difficulty breathing at 5.50am and immediately rushed him to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital.
"The baby was immediately sent to the Yellow Zone in the emergency ward, but was pronounced dead at the hospital."
Zaidy said preliminary checks by the doctor on the baby found no sign of injury to the body or any element of foul play.
He said a post-mortem had been carried out at the hospital.
Police have classified the case as sudden death.
