UUM professor is world's top 2 per cent scientists

SINTOK: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) marketing and e-commerce expert, Prof Ts Dr Norazah Mohd Suki has leapt 1,000 places to reach the "Top 2 per cent of Scientists" ranking, announced by Stanford University, recently.

Norazah maintained her position in the top 2 per cent of scientists in the world from last year, after she was cited for the fourth time in the Single Year Achievement category and the second time in the Career-Long Achievement category.

The professor of marketing and e-business, attached to the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB), expressed her gratitude as her accolades reflect the quality of publications and research.

"Praise be to Allah, I am grateful for this honour and hope to continue making UUM proud, globally,"

"Being named one of the world's 'Top 2% of Scientists reflects the quality of research and publications in high-impact journals in the field of marketing and e-commerce," she said in a statement today.

She hoped the success would open more opportunities for international collaboration and networking, as well as to serve as an inspiration to all.

Meanwhile, UUM vice-chancellor Prof Dr Haim Hilman Abdullah congratulated Norazah on her achievement.

He added that such achievements required dedication and discipline, as well as honesty and integrity in one's work.

"The two honours indirectly positioned UUM on the global map of scientific research excellence which is a source of pride for both the university and the country.

"I hope this achievement inspires all university denizens, and nothing is impossible if we work hard enough," he added.

The world's "Top 2% of Scientists" is regarded as the most prestigious global recognition. It based on data released by Elsevier BV, Stanford University, since 2019.

As of today, Dr Norazah has published over 300 papers with a SCOPUS h-index of 28 and is ranked fourth in Malaysia in the field of business and economics.
