BAGAN SERAI: A mother and her son were killed in an accident in Kampung Kedai 2, Rimba Simpang 4, here, today.
The victims were identified as Zainab Alias, 64 and her son, Shahren Ismail, 37.
A Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the department received a distress call at 7.39pm.
He said the accident involved a Toyota Yaris and a lorry.
"The victims who were travelling in the lorry were killed on the spot while the driver of the Toyota Yaris suffered injuries.
"Firemen had to use a special tool to remove the victims who were pinned to their seats," he said adding that the operation ended at 9.13pm.
The spokesman added that the bodies were handed over to police and were taken to a hospital for post-mortem examination.
