GEORGE TOWN: A man was rescued after he fell off the Penang Bridge here this morning.
The Fire and Rescue Department was alerted to the incident about 11.22am.
Operation officer Mohd Azizul Alim said when they arrived at the scene at KM1 of the Penang Bridge heading towards the island, they were told that a 34-year-old man had fell off the bridge.
The victim had left his motorcycle on the bridge.
"We initiated rescue protocol including tossing rope and life jacket to the victim.
"Next, the victim was lifted with the help of a crane and handed over to the police for further action," he said.
The operation ended at 11.55am.
