ROMPIN: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong today visited the Kampung Tekek jetty on Pulau Tioman, here, to observe work on upgrading one of the entry points to the resort island.
Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah was accompanied by his son, Tengku Arif Bendahara Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri'ayatuddin Shah.
Also present was Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
His Majesty was briefed on the upgrading of the jetty by state Public Works director Datuk Hafizah Zakaria.
He then went to Kampung Salang, also on the island, to attend a "Jamuan Rakyat" (banquet with the people).
The king is on a two-day visit to the island. -- Bernama
