SARATOK: Two people died, and two sustained severe injuries when the pick-up truck they were travelling in skidded, turned turtle and landed in a ditch at Jalan Berayang Saratok - Sarikei today.
Voon Kuet Pin, 55, and Wong Hung Ling, 41, died on the spot in the single-vehicle accident.
Voon Look Siong, 33, and 15-year-old Danson Tu Kah Ann were rushed to the Saratok Hospital for treatment.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department operation centre spokesman said a team from the Saratok Fire and Rescue station was deployed to the scene when the department received a distress call over the accident at 4.06pm.
"The case has been handed over to the police for further action," the spokesman said.
