Preacher Ebit Lew lodges report over defamation

KUALA LUMPUR: Preacher Ebit Lew has lodged a police report against allegations of defamation.

The police report is believed to have been made early this morning at a police station in Subang Jaya.

In an Instagram post, he said he had lodged the report as soon as he arrived from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at about midnight.

"Bismillah. I just arrived from Jeddah (12 o'clock) last night and straight to the police station to make a report about the extreme slander that are completely baseless against me.

"I leave it to the police to take action. I have also left it to my lawyer for further action," he said in the post.

The post was uploaded along with a photo of him holding a copy of the police report in front of the USJ 8 police station.

The police report is believed to have been made after a recording of an interview with a woman from a neighboring country who had received his help went viral on social media.

The woman claimed that she was a victim of sexual harassment by a famous independent preacher from Malaysia when she first arrived in the country this year.
