Rainstorm wreaks havoc in Klang Valley

KUALA LUMPUR: A rainstorm in the Klang Valley this evening wreaked havoc, with trees uprooted by strong wind affecting traffic flow.

The Fire and Rescue Department recorded eight such incidents, with four uprooted trees falling onto vehicles.

The incidents took place at Jalan 2/61 of Bukit Segambut; Jalan 19/62B and Jalan 2/62 in Bandar Manjalara; Jalan Bukit Maluri 9 in Taman Bukit Maluri; Jalan Udang Kapas in Taman Sri Segambut; Jalan 14/38C in Taman Sri Kepong; Taman Petaling Garden, Petaling Baru; and Persiaran Perdana in Bandar Sri Damansara.

Two people were inside a car when a tree fell on their vehicle at Jalan 19/62B, Bandar Manjalara.

However, the car occupants managed to exit the vehicle without injuries.

At Persiaran Perdana in Bandar Sri Damansara, trees fell on top of two cars.

None of the car occupants were injured.

At press time, rescuers are still on the ground to clear the debris.
