KUALA LUMPUR: The Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (Abim) has called upon people worldwide to consistently support the current struggle of the Palestinian people.
ABIM sees the conflict between the Palestinian people and the Zionist Israel regime as escalating at this point.
"The recent clashes are the result of the ongoing oppression and colonisation by the Zionist regime against the Palestinian people, for a long time.
"Therefore, Abim calls on all citizens of the world to consistently support the cause of the Palestinian people.
"This fight was made because the Palestinian people yearn for the freedom and independence of their homeland," it said in a statement today.
Abim also urges all parties to respect humanitarian boundaries, especially in protecting the public consisting of women, children and the elderly in the troubled region.
Since yesterday, Hamas attacked Israel before the latter counterattacked.
