McDonald's Malaysia donates RM1mil to Palestine Humanitarian Fund in PM's Department

KUALA LUMPUR: McDonald's Malaysia has confirmed its donation of RM1 million to the newly established Palestine Humanitarian Fund within the Prime Minister's Department.

In a statement today, it said that the effort was in line with the government's commendable endeavour, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim during the presentation of the 2024 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat.

"The suggestion made by the prime minister to allocate RM10 million to the Palestine Humanitarian Fund strongly aligns with McDonald's Malaysia dedication to assist those affected by the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

"The donation to the Palestine Humanitarian Fund will directly aid relief initiatives in Gaza, tending to the urgent requirements of individuals impacted by the conflict which includes medical aid, food, and shelter, as well as evacuation assistance," read the statement.

McDonald's Malaysia unwavering dedication is centred on providing crucial assistance to those facing severe circumstances.

The statement also highlighted that McDonald's Malaysia was actively involving their employees across the country in fundraising campaigns with hopes that such efforts would have significant outcomes on the well-being of those experiencing hardship in Gaza
