Makna and MAG collaborate to ease burden of cancer patients

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Cancer Council (Makna) will work with Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) to alleviate the financial burden of underprivileged cancer patients through the 'BerMakna Bersama MAG' campaign.

The campaign provides flight ticket sponsorship by MAG to eligible cancer patients within the extensive network of MAG airlines, which includes Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, and MASwings.

This is to ensure the underprivileged cancer patients have access to essential medical care without the additional strain of travel expenses.

Makna's general manager, Farahida Mohd Farid expressed her enthusiasm by saying, "Cancer can be an arduous and financially demanding journey, and the cost of transportation should not stand as a barrier to accessing vital treatment.

"We are delighted to join hands with Malaysia Aviation Group to offer complimentary flight tickets to deserving cancer patients.

"Together, we can alleviate the financial burdens faced by these individuals, ensuring they receive the care needed to combat this relentless disease."

She explained that the campaign,'BerMakna Bersama MAG' stands as a symbol of hope for underprivileged cancer patients in Malaysia, thus reaffirming the commitment of both organisations to making a positive impact on the lives of those battling cancer.

Meanwhile, MAG's group chief sustainability officer, Philip See expressed his sentiments, saying, "We are honoured to be part of Makna's compassionate mission to relieve the financial challenges confronting families dealing with cancer."

In the role of the national flag bearer, he reaffirms the team's heartfelt commitment to ensuring a secure and seamless journey to onward destinations aboard Malaysian Hospitality.

The "BerMakna Bersama MAG" campaign extends a lifeline, assuring that no patient is left behind due to the financial implications of travel.
