Fourteen UTAR researchers ranked among top two percent scientists worldwide by Stanford University

KUALA LUMPUR: Fourteen UTAR researchers have been ranked as among the top two per cent of scientists worldwide by Stanford University this year.

Stanford University utilised Scopus author profiles as of Oct 1, 2023 to list the top two percent scientists in various scientific fields.

In a statement, UTAR congratulated all those listed in the top two percent of the world's scientists.

Among those who have made into the list are Emeritus Professor Dr Boo Nem Yun @ Mooi Nam Ying for General and Internal Medicine, Ir Professor Dr Chung Boon Kuan for Information and Communication, Ir Professor Dr Ong Kok Seng for Energy, Professor Dr Mohammed J.K. Bashir for Environmental Sciences, Professor Ts Dr Yau Kok Lim for Networking & Telecommunications and Professor Dr Sumathi Sethupathi for the Chemical Engineering field.

"The list was prepared by Professor John Loannidis and his team from Stanford University.

The updated database (version 6) provides 'standardszed information on citations, h-index, co-authorship-adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator" the statement read.
