A sisterly embrace: Queen and newly elected King, Sultan Ibrahim

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians were deeply moved by the touching moment that shone a light on the unbreakable sibling bond, as the Raja Permaisuri Agong promptly greeted her brother, the Sultan of Johor, as soon as the 263rd (Special) Meeting of the Conference of Rulers had ended.

During the special meeting, the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar was elected as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong with the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, being reelected as the Deputy Agong.

In a video that circulated online, the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, was captured walking directly towards her brother, exchanging warm greetings, and embracing him tightly.

Sultan Ibrahim appeared to be struggling to hold back tears.

He handed a handkerchief to Tunku Azizah, who was seen wiping her tears before passing it back to her brother.

The heartfelt moment between the two siblings continued for a while before Tunku Azizah approached her husband, the current Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah who is set to conclude his service on Jan 30, 2024.

The video ended with Tunku Azizah holding hands and walking alongside her brother.
