NSK issues apology over frog meat displayed in seafood counter

KUALA LUMPUR: NSK Trade City Sdn Bhd (NSK) has issued a public apology following an incident where one of its supermarkets in Selayang allegedly displayed frog meat in the seafood counter.

In a statement released yesterday, NSK expressed its awareness of the severity of the issue and confirmed that immediate action has been taken to prevent a recurrence of the incident.

"We apologise for the incident that occurred on Oct 24. We understand the seriousness of this matter, and have promptly taken measures to address it. Warnings have also been issued to the involved employees.

"NSK deeply apologises once again and will ensure that such a mistake does not recur in the future," the statement reads.

Previously, a supermarket in Selayang went viral on social media after frog meat was discovered displayed alongside seafood, causing concern among online users.

In a tweet on X (formerly known as Twitter), @MalaysianFoods said the supermarket sold frog meat openly.

"The incident occurred where non-halal food was mixed with halal food and sold in piles at NSK Selayang, so be careful when buying at this supermarket.

"Be careful, do not make the mistake of buying a chicken or quail that looks like a frog," it said.
