Kedah Sultan reminds National Resilience College attendees to safeguard independence

PUTRAJAYA: The Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah today expressed his concern over the ongoing conflict in Gaza following the cruelty of the Israeli forces towards the Palestinians, especially children.

In light of this, Sultan Sallehuddin reminded all parties to be grateful for the peace in Malaysia and to always be prepared to defend the country's independence.

"There are still nations struggling to uphold justice and seek independence for their beloved homelands.

"While our country enjoys peace and independence, it is the responsibility of public servants like those in Kedah's civil service and diplomatic administrative officers, as well as corporate bodies, to maintain the highest state of readiness at all times," said the Sultan of Kedah at the closing of the 2023 Kedah Leadership Strengthening Program for State Administrative Officers and National Resilience College Executive Week here today, held at the National Centre for Defence Studies (Puspahanas).

A total of 83 participants from various government agencies, government-linked companies as well as the private sector received their certificates from Sultan Sallehuddin.

The Executive Week course, organised by the National Resilience College (NRC), aims to enhance awareness of security aspects among participants and their role in national stability development.

The course serves as a platform to stimulate close collaboration, strengthen professional networks among participants from various disciplines, and empower society as well as the nation.

Throughout the duration of the course, participants are guided with an in-depth understanding of the nation's vision and aspirations, as well as being provided with a profound understanding of strategies that will propel Malaysia to achieve excellence.

Participants were also guided on how to apply the Whole-of-Government and Whole-of-Society (WOGOS) approach to heighten national security awareness.

Present at the ceremony were Armed Forces chief General Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense Datuk Seri Isham Ishak, NRC Commandant, Major General Datuk Mohd Nizam Jaffar and senior officers of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM).
