Revving for relief: Man puts rare car up for sale to fundraise for Palestine

KUALA LUMPUR: Car enthusiast Abdul Halim Keply, 41, sells a rare car to raise funds to help the Palestinians.

There are only four limited edition Nissan Laurel C35s in the country, and Halim is selling his for RM65,000 to help the Palestinians.

He said the decision was made to help and lessen the burden of the Palestinians who continue to be victims of Israeli attacks.

"Gaza has been under attack for a month. Besides praying for the well-being of the people there, what we can do here is to contribute to Palestine.

"Everybody has been praying, so I thought another thing I could do is to sell some assets to raise funds for charity.

"I decided to sell one of the cars in my collection. I discussed it with my wife, who agreed and fully supported the decision. The proceeds from the sale will all be channelled to a Palestinian fund. That is my intention," said Halim.

He said since he posted his offer on his Facebook page on Tuesday, he had received a lot of positive responses.

He added that three prospective buyers had contacted him and wanted to look at the car at his house in Taman Semarak in Kajang.

"I posted it on Tuesday, and three individuals contacted me to view the car. I wanted RM65,000 for the vehicle, but it is negotiable.

"I just made some improvements on the car, so there is no problem with it.

"I bought the car from a friend from Japan when he wanted to return home. I have had the car for three years"," said Halim.
