MyCare collects RM1 million for Palestinians

JOHOR BARU: A total of RM1 million has been collected by Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCare) and channelled to the Palestinian people who are facing the brutality of the Israeli army.

Johor MyCare manager Rozi Abdul Ghani said that it involves financial, medical and food assistance.

He said of that amount, RM350,000 was collected by Johor MyCare.

"Alhamdulillah, MyCare has channelled the first phase donation of RM500,000, and the second phase, we, together with Wisma Putra, have channelled medical assistance amounting to RM500,000.

"So we have channelled as much as RM1 million, and we will continue," he told reporters at the peaceful gathering in solidarity for Palestinians, at the Kempas Permai People's Housing Project (PPR), here today.

Meanwhile, Pulai member of Parliament Suhaizan Kayat said that the peaceful assembly in solidarity with Palestine should continue.

"It is important because we want to make Malaysians aware that what is happening in Palestine is a form of colonisation.

"It does not only affect Muslims but the Palestinian people regardless of religion.. non-Muslims, such as Christians and others, who are victims of Israeli Zionist cruelty and tyranny," he said.

Earlier, nearly 1,000 residents of PPR Kempas Permai, as well as members of the public, including representatives and members of non-governmental organisations (NGOs), joined the peaceful rally. -- BERNAMA
