Nurul Ain's father wants her to return to Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR : Haron Hamim, the father of Nurul Ain Haron who was yesterday evacuated from the Gaza conflict area, wants his daughter to return to Malaysia.

Haron,65, told Berita Harian that he had been informed of Nurul Ain's evacuation.

"I was told that Nurul Ain has been brought to safety but I am unable to contact her for now. If she is safe, Alhamdulilah," he said.

Haron added he had previously asked the government to bring Nurul Ain and her Palestinian husband, Mohamed A.M Shaat back to Malaysia.

The Foreign Ministry confirmed that the couple had been evacuated from the conflict area via the Rafah border crossing yesterday at 2.23am (Malaysian local time).

Upon arrival at the crossing, she was contacted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir who had asked the couple on how they were doing a video call from Makkah.
