Entrepreneur Development Ministry plans collaboration with Media Prima, enhance awareness on development of SMEs

PETALING JAYA: Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister, Datuk Ewon Benedick, paid a corporate visit to the Media Prima Berhad (MPB) headquarters at Sri Pentas here, today.

The minister and his representatives were welcomed by MPB group chairman Datuk Seri Dr Syed Hussian Aljunid and they were given a brief corporate presentation on Media Prima's operations.

The visit also included a guided tour of the offices of Rev Media Group, the Media Prima Audio conty and Media Prima News and Editorial Operations.

Ewon said the primary goal of the visit was to discuss a collaboration between the ministry and MPB in enhancing awareness about the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and cooperatives in the country, particularly in the upcoming year.

"We have several stakeholders under the ministry which are the cooperative movement, SMEs, small traders and businesses.

"These stakeholders play a significant role in our country's economy and fall under the jurisdiction of the ministry. Additionally, the ten agencies placed under this ministry have crucial roles in supporting them," he added.

He also said that he is eager to witness success stories from entrepreneurs who have benefited from the ministry's initiatives and budget allocations.

"I hope that Media Prima can effectively communicate these success stories through its diverse channels, including television, print media, and online platforms.

"This collaboration has the potential to strengthen the partnership between the ministry and Media Prima."

Also present were Media Prima Omnia chief operating officer Datuk Mohd Efendi Omar, Media Prima Audio chief executive officer Nazri Noran, New Straits Times Press (NSTP) group managing editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman.
