Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS Malaysia) chairman Professor Dr Mohd Nazari Ismail said the movement to boycott businesses and products linked to Israel in the country lacks tactic and global collective effort.

He said, this was one reason that contributed to the divisive nature of people's attitudes towards such stance.

In addition, analysts feel that a blanket boycott on certain well-known franchises will have maximum impact on local employees and business profitability but minimal impact on Israel itself.

In business, Mavcom decided to suspend MYAirline's operating licence with immediate effect after deeming the airline's response to a show cause letter issued last month unsatisfactory.
