Kelantan raises RM3.1 million for Palestinians affected by conflict with Israel

KOTA BARU: Kelantan has raised approximately RM3.1 million to aid Palestinians impacted by the ongoing conflict with Israel.

Led by the state government, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), and generous contributions from the public, this fundraising endeavor showcased a collective effort to support those affected by the conflict.

Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud, in announcing the impressive collection, said RM2 million were from the Aid4 Palestine fund, RM526,000 from Gabungan Usahawan Prihatin Kelantan, RM400,000 from the state government, while the rest poured in from individuals.

"The state government would like to thank those who have donated to help the Palestinian people including via our 'Serambi Mekah' fund.

"The donation was collected within a week and this drive will continue," he said at a gathering to express solidarity with Palestine and conduct a 'munajat' prayuer to safeguard the Syariah Enactment.

Also present were Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and Pas secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.

The gathering drew an impressive crowd of about 5,000 party supporters at the Sultan Muhammad IV stadium.

Nassuruddin shared that during the gathering alone, donations swelled to about RM800,000, comprising cash donations and even valuable items such as gold and silver rings, necklaces, and an unexpected contribution of a Rolex watch.
