Johor MB unveils strategic initiatives to enhance public services and disaster response

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor menteri besar has unveiled initiatives to enhance public services and strengthen disaster response, during its state budget 2024 tabled at Bangunan Sultan Ismail, in Kota Iskandar today.

Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said a RM2 million allocation to district officers were approved to facilitate community programme executions and to provide prompt assistance to those affected by disasters, while an addition RM 1million will be allocated under the Johor State Disaster Trust Fund.

A grant of RM16million will be channelled to local municipal council authorities with limited revenue sources, to match their counterparts in providing upgraded facilitates and amenities to the people in their respecting estates.

Other initiative included enhancing counter delivery system at Johor Land and Mines Office to ensure a more efficient counter service. This is done by increasing the Registration and Strata Title counters and an addition of 45 staff, a move to taken to double transactional capacity from 1,400 to over 2,800 transactions per day. The Johor Water Regulatory Body will be upgraded to Johor Water Board, which aims towards an efficient and effective water resource management.
