A Malaysian woman died in a crash in Pattani, three others injured

PATTANI: A young Malaysian woman was killed while three others were injured after the four-wheel-drive vehicle that they were travelling in skidded and rammed into an electric pole here recently.

A Thai rescue agency spokesman said the incident happened along Pattani-Hatyai road at Tambun Takamcam Nojik at about 2.30pm (Thai time) on Tuesday (Nov 21).

The spokesman said the deceased was the passenger who sat next to the driver, believed to be his wife.

The spokesman added the injured driver and two passengers were believed to be the woman's husband and their children.

"The children were seriously hurt and warded at the Nong Chik Hospital in Pattani.

"The driver suffered a broken hand and sought outpatient treatment at the same hospital.

"It was raining heavily when the incident happened," said the spokesman.

The spokesman said the woman's body was brought back to her hometown on the same day for burial.

According to the spokesman, heavy rain has hit southern Thailand since early this week.

It is learnt that the victims, who were from Kelantan, went to Pattani to visit a relative who died recently.
