Gazan father captures final goodbye to lifeless body of daughter after Israeli attack

KUALA LUMPUR: A touching video of a father hugging and "chatting" with the lifeless body of his child, who died in an Israeli attack Thursday morning has surfaced on the internet, tugging the heartstrings of many.

The father was seen cradling his two-year-old daughter while joking as if she were still alive.

With a smile, he kissed her face while trying to open her eyes before embracing the stiff and pale body repeatedly.

"My source of strength, where are you going, my dear? Alhamdulillah, may Allah be with you," he said while waiting for his turn to shroud his daughter.

He then gently placed his daughter to be wrapped in burial shrouds.

In another separate video, the same man is seen capturing a final selfie with his daughter.

Ignoring the chaotic surroundings with bodies strewn around, the father knelt while cradling and hugging his lifeless infant daughter, with one hand holding a mobile phone.

He was seen taking a selfie with his child to capture their last moments together.

"Innalillahiwainnailaihirojiun," he said, smiling as he captured their final photo together.

A four-day ceasefire began at 1pm yesterday (Malaysia time) in Gaza allowing thousands of residents to return to their homes.

Humanitarian aid trucks, including fuel supplies and ambulances, also began entering through the Rafah border to retrieve injured victims for treatment outside Gaza.

The war has recorded a total of 14,854 casualties with 7,000 victims still trapped under rubble and over 36,000 injured.
