Kota Baru-Kuala Krai highway project delayed by about 155 days

KOTA BARU: The Kelantan State Assembly today heard that the Kota Baru-Kuala Krai highway project is behind by 155 days.

State Works, Infrastructure, Water and Rural Development committee chairman Datuk Dr Izani Husin said the project is 85.70 percent in progress.

Despite the delay, he said the project is expected to be completed as scheduled in 2027.

"The 2B package of the project from Ketereh to Kok Lanas is still under contruction and its progress is currently at 85.70 percent and delayed by 155 days.

"I was informed that the Public Works Department has issued a notice to the contractor for failing to complete the work ," said Dr Izani replying to a question by Ahmad Zakhran Mat Noor (Kemuning) at the State Assembly sitting here today.

For other packages in the project, the 2C and 3A from Kok Lanas to Bukit Tiu which is 18.30 percent in progress and Bukit Tiu to Berangan Mek Nab package (15.73 per cent).

The others are the 3B package from Kampung Berangan Mek Nab to Kampung Keruh (18.58 per cent) and 3C package from Kampung Keruh to Kuala Krai (18.25 per cent).

Dr Izani said five exits were set up along the project and they are in Perol, Ketereh, Kok Lanas, Bukit Tin and Kuala Krai.
