KOTA BARU: Flood in Kelantan claimed its second victim today after a nine-year-old boy was found drowned in an irrigation canal at Kampung Derdap, here, today.
The victim was identified as Mohd Rifki Asyraf Mohd.
Firemen from the Pengkalan Chepa and Pasir Tumboh stations rushed to the scene after receiving information on the incident at 6.27pm.
The boy's body was discovered inside the canal by the firemen at 6.53pm.
Mohd Rifki was the second flood victim in Kelantan since the monsoon season hit the state on Nov 19.
The first victim was a 23-month old boy who drowned in a river at the back of his house on Sunday at Kampung Kenali near Kubang Kerian.
