Malaysia, Saudi strengthen ties [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia and Saudi Arabia will continue to strengthen bilateral relations to benefit the Muslim community.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na'im Mokhtar said the Saudi Arabian government expressed its willingness to continue training programmes for Syariah officials, especially Syariah court judges.

The matter was informed after discussions with the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Mesaad Ibrahim Al-Sulaim, during a luncheon at his official residence on Thursday.

"The meeting discussed basic matters to hold collaborative training and expertise development programmes for imams in our country to receive guidance from Saudi Arabia," he said in a statement.

Mohd Na'im said several hajj management issues for the upcoming season were also discussed to improve the hajj operation journey.
