NSTP Melaka former stringer dies

MASJID TANAH: Former Berita Harian Melaka reporter Hasan Omar, 56, foresaw his death within a month after a strange dream last week.

His third son Mohd Haiqal, 21, said his father seemed to know that he was going to die within a month, following a dream where he had seen himself being shrouded.

He told his family he saw his body being put in a coffin.

Little did they know that it would turn out to be a reality.

Mohd Haiqal said his father passed away while en route to the Melaka hospital due to a heart attack at around 11am yesterday.

"He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance after suffering a heart attack at a car workshop in Bachang.

"The family did not suspect anything was amiss he had appeared healthy and cheerful that morning. Later, we received news that he had to be rushed to the hospital.

"Previously, he had undergone heart surgery at Hospital Serdang in 2014, and his condition remained healthy until this morning," he said when contacted yesterday.

He added that the deceased was scheduled to attend his convocation at Universiti Melaka with his mother today, but it did not happen.

The late Hasan leaves behind a widow, Noorazilah Muhammad, 54, three sons and a daughter.

He had previously served with NSTP in Sabah, Kedah, and Kuala Lumpur before becoming a part-time journalist in Melaka.

His remains were buried at the Kampung Londang Cemetery after Isyak prayers.
