Acknowledging change: Sivakumar bows out gracefully as HR minister in Anwar's cabinet reshuffle

IPOH: Former Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar respects the decision made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim after his name has been dropped in the cabinet reshuffle today.

"I respect PM's (decision). I have done my best.

"(I) would like to thank all Human Resources (HR) Ministry staff for their excellent cooperation with me," said the Batu Gajah member of parliament when contacted by the New Straits Times today.

It was reported that one of the casualties in the cabinet reshuffle scheduled today is expected to be Sivakumar, who was appointed human resources minister on Dec 3, last year.

Former Deputy Finance Minister II Steven Sim Chee Keong is taking over his portfolio.

Sivakumar had faced repeated calls to resign after an aide and several senior ministry officers were arrested over corruption allegations early this year.
