Dr Dzul ready for health minister role after '12-month recess' [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad is ready to assume the health minister role for a second time.

He was announced as the new health minister, replacing Dr Zaliha Mustafa, who will become the federal territories minister.

Dr Dzulkefly was health minister under the Pakatan Harapan administration from May 2018 to Feb 2020 when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was prime minister.

However, he was not reappointed into the cabinet after the Unity Government was formed on Nov 2022.

Via social media platform X, Dr Dzulkefly said he was ready to serve again after his hiatus.

He also thanked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the opportunity to helm the ministry again.

"Twelve months of decent recess or a hiatus of sorts. Ready to bounce back.

"Thank you so much for the opportunity PMX @anwaribrahim," he wrote.

Dr Dzulkefly, who is also Kuala Selangor member of parliament, is also Parti Amanah Negara strategic director.
