Johari Ghani clocks-in for duty as the new plantation and commodities minister

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani began his official duties as the new Plantation and Commodities Minister by clocking-in at the ministerial building at 1.13pm today.

The return of the Titiwangsa member of Parliament as a federal minister was announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday in his first ever Cabinet reshuffle.

Johari is taking over the portfolio from Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who will also look after Sarawak and Sabah affairs.

Also present to report for duty on the same day was new Deputy Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Chan Foong Hin, who was previously the deputy minister at the Agriculture and Food Security Ministry.

Present to welcome the arrival of the new minister and his deputy were the ministry's secretary-general Datuk Mad Zaidi Mohd Karli, deputy secretary-general (Plantation and Commodities) Datuk Zailani Hashim, the other deputy secretary-general (Strategic Planning and Management) Abdul Hadi Omar and staff of the ministry.
