PASIR GUDANG: A 35-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his car, causing it to skid and overturn into a ditch at Jalan Masai Utama 1 in Taman Masai, near here, today.
The deceased, identified as Norinol Wakhid Supeno, was behind the wheel of a Toyota Altis, while his 23-year-old passenger, Iman Haiqal Md Isa, sustained minor injuries in the 3:23 am incident.
Fire and Rescue Department Operation Commander Razali Hussein said both victims were rescued from the vehicle by passers-by.
"Upon our arrival, we found both victims by the embankment of a water-filled ditch. We used stretchers to ferry them up," he said.
However, Norinol Wakhid was pronounced dead at the scene by the health ministry medical assistant, while the survivor was rushed to the hospital for observation.
The victim's body was released to the police to facilitate their investigations.
