Fatal morning commute: 37-year-old airport worker killed in Subang hit-and-run

KUALA LUMPUR: A tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a 37-year-old airport staff member on the Subang Airport road this morning.

Petaling Jaya District police chief Mohamad Fakhrudin Abd Hamid said the traffic department received information about the incident at about 6.05am.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the fatal accident occurred around 5.46am at KM4.4 of the Subang Airport road.

The victim, riding a Honda EX5 motorcycle with registration number WXV5089, was en route to work at Subang Airport when a yet-to-be-identified car collided with him from behind.

The car fled the scene immediately after the collision.

The deceased's body was taken to the University of Malaya Medical Centre's forensic unit for a post-mortem examination.

The case is currently under investigation under Section 44(1)(a) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.

Inspector Abdul Ghafur Baharuddin, the Traffic Investigation Officer, appealed for public assistance.
