Cops take errant teen motorcyclists for prayers together

SUNGAI BULOH: Traffic police officers at the Sungai Buloh police headquarters went the extra mile by taking a group of teen motorcyclists, stopped for various offences, to perform Fajr (dawn) prayers together at the police headquarters' surau, yesterday.

The investigating officer from the Investigation and Traffic Enforcement Department, Inspector Che Hassan Ambok, joined and led all 14 motorcyclists for the prayers.

In a statement on Facebook, Sungai Buloh police said that in the 3am operation, a team of officers and members of the Sungai Buloh Investigation and Traffic Enforcement Department, assisted by officers from the Sungai Pelong station, conducted a street gang prevention operation on the Guthrie highway.

It said that as a result of the operation, a total of 87 summonses were issued for various offences, with 108 motorcyclists inspected, 14 motorcycles seized and detained for offences such as driving without a licence, having an expired road tax, and exhaust modification.

"The spiritual element must also be elevated and corrected for them to reflect on the mistakes they have made," it added.
