#PromisingPerak tourism vouchers return for Visit Perak Year 2024

IPOH: As part of the initiatives for Visit Perak Year 2024, the Perak state government has reintroduced the #PromisingPerak tourism vouchers.

The announcement was made by the State Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development Committee chairman Loh Sze Yee during a press conference at Warung Theatre @ Cathay.

The #PromisingPerak tourism vouchers were initially introduced in 2020 to revitalise the state's tourism industry, which had suffered setbacks due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Loh said these vouchers offer special discounts on selected hotels and tourism products, aiming to attract more visitors to the state.

"These vouchers will be available via the state tourism website, tour agency and other platforms beginning Feb 1 until Jan 31, 2025.

"For starters, 3,920 vouchers worth RM30, RM70 and RM150 will be distributed to 65 industry players registered with Tourism Perak," he said.

This strategic move is expected to not only benefit tourists but also provide an economic boost to local businesses in the tourism sector, he added.

During the press conference, Tourism Perak Management Bhd chief executive officer Nurmalis Musa elaborated on the eligibility criteria for the voucher rebates.

She said tourists spending a minimum of RM500 on a single receipt for a tour package can qualify for a RM150 rebate, provided they stay for three days and two nights.

"Hotels participating in the programme will offer a RM70 discount for a minimum one-night stay." she said.

Furthermore, Nurmalis shared that families visiting attractions like Kellie's Castle or Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No 5 could save RM30 on ticket purchases.

"For detailed information about all participating operators, interested individuals are encouraged to visit the Tourism Perak website." she added.
