KUALA LUMPUR: Elise, 25, outwardly appears like any other girl with a career – a love for fashion and active social life.
However, she hides a dark secret as she struggles with an "addiction" of selling her personal videos, with packages starting from RM100 to RM350 for 10 videos.
Elise, who was contacted by journalists, said she became involved in this activity during her studies at a higher-learning institution.
"Some friends had taught me about this dark-side community. At the beginning, I sold (videos) just for fun, to earn pocket money, to be able to spend (money) and enjoy.
"However, over time, I became 'addicted' when men often praised my body. In the next phase, I recorded nude videos without showing my face. After that, I recorded videos while being intimate with my boyfriend.
"For scenes with my boyfriend, I could earn a subscription fee of RM2,500 to RM3,000 every month by producing various videos," she said yesterday.
Elise said she has also created a "service slot" for known customers.
"Now the dark-side community is in the public spotlight, surely the authorities are monitoring it," she said.
Meanwhile, Sally, 32, said she got caught up in vice due to intimacy issues with her husband.
"At first, I only sold nude pictures and videos in the early stages; I didn't provide services for outsiders (prostitution).
"But when people started praising my beautiful body and complimenting my assets, I became excited. At the same time, I earned money from the subscription of my personal pictures.
"For 10 nude pictures, I set the price at RM100, and the pictures are different every day," she said.
A survey by Harian Metro found that with a payment of between RM200 and RM2,500, men could get the opportunity to bed young girls and housewives.
The men could choose to satisfy their desires with the women starting from an hour with a minimum fee of RM200, to an overnight package that cost thousands of ringgit.
The demands of the vice community are being fulfilled by both men and women who are willing to sacrifice their dignity to earn easy money.
They rely on social media to inconspicuously promote their products and services, as it is believed that this method attracts little attention from the authorities.
It is also discovered that the sale of personal pictures and vice activities on social media are not limited to the heterosexual community, but also exists among those who have desires for the same gender.
