Kuala Krai latest district to be hit by floods in Kelantan

KUALA KRAI: Kuala Krai became the latest district to be affected by Kelantan's fourth round of floods which began yesterday.

A total of 89 victims were evacuated to two relief centres in the district this morning, bringing the number of victims to 522.

The 89 sought shelter at SK Chenulang (49) and the Veterinary office (40).

The rest of the flood victims were evacuated to seven other relief centres in two other districts, namely Pasir Puteh and Tanah Merah.

As of 8pm, two rivers in Kelantan were above their danger levels.

The rivers are Sungai Kelantan in Kuala Krai which was recorded at 25.86m and Sungai Golok in Tanah Merah at 24.36m.

Meanwhile, several low-lying areas in Kuala Krai have been inundated with 0.8m to 1m of water.

The affected areas include Kampung Chenulang, Kampung Keroh and Kampung Batu Jong.

However, all roads were still accessible to motorists.
