Micromobility, bike sharing system among proposals in Draft to KL Local Plan 2040

KUALA LUMPUR: The development of pedestrian and micromobility vehicles network, as well as a bike sharing system (BSS) are among proposals in Draft to Kuala Lumpur Local Plan 2040 (PTKL2040).

The projects are aimed at making Kuala Lumpur a mobility effective and environment-friendly city.

The draft, which covers more specific details for different areas based on the Kuala Lumpur Structure Plan, will be available for public display from tomorrow until March 1.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the draft to PTKL2040 is expected to be gazetted in the first quarter of next year.

"Public hearing for the plan will be from tomorrow onwards, which normally takes about a month, but it can be extended if necessary.

"The public can also give their views on the draft that will be studied and taken into account before the plan is approved," she told reporters after launching the draft to PTKL2040 today.

The plan emphasised on the proposed land use zones and development intensity on each lot in Kuala Lumpur.

The draft is available at Kuala Lumpur City Hall's Menara 1 and 3, as well as mobile displays in the federal territory's 11 parliament constituencies.
