Seberang Prai City Council: Dog which bit girls taken to animal shelter [Watch]

BUTTERWORTH: A dog, captured on video coming out from a house and attacking two school girls in Taman Pekatra Indah in Simpang Ampat, has been moved to an animal shelter here.

Checks by the Seberang Prai City Council (MBSP) at the house today showed the animal was taken away by its owner.

"MBSP will conduct further investigations to find out the exact location of the dog.

"Action, in the form of a compound, will also be taken against the owner under the Local Government Act 1976," it said tonight.

Two video clips showing the dog pouncing on the girls have since made it to the X application.

The girls fell to the ground following the attack.

The owner was seen chasing after the dog.

Meanwhile, MBSP said the biting incident was under the jurisdiction of the Veterinary Services Department.

"We urge the victims to seek medical treatment. The case will be referred to the department for further action under the Malaysia Veterinary Protocol," it added.
