40,000 lucky newborns to receive vouchers and other items from Aeon worth up to RM1,000

KUALA LUMPUR: Aeon Co Bhd (Aeon Malaysia) will provide essential items worth up to RM1,000, including Aeon cash vouchers, to parents of newborns throughout 2024, nationwide.

The giveaway is part of the 'Aeon Celebrates 2024 Babies' campaign, commemorating its 40th anniversary.

Parents of a total of 40,000 babies born nationwide throughout 2024, can avail of the benefits by registering as "Very Important Parents" (VIP) club members under the Aeon membership.

Aeon commercial and marketing chief Low Ngai Yuen said the campaign aims to build long-term relationships between Aeon and young families.

The campaign, she said, also focuses on providing emotional, mental, and physical support while easing the financial burden for couples welcoming their precious ones.

"Expectant mothers are also encouraged to register early for assistance, including preparation for pregnancy needs and baby essentials, such as healthy nutrition, clothing and personal care items, including a checklist for the hospital bag for mother and baby," she said during a media activation ceremony at the University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC).

Low emphasises Aeon's unwavering commitment to sustaining this collaboration for the continuous benefit of the selected baby's development and growth.

She said UMMC, selected as the first healthcare institution for this campaign, anticipates over 500 newborns at the medical centre to enjoy the offered privileges.

"We have ambitious goals, having been present for 40 years. Our continuous commitment is to offer ongoing benefits for children, such as their first bicycle and gadget, as well as similar subsidies.

"This includes the latest offerings to ensure the children grow up healthy. We are constantly striving to facilitate unique learning experiences for children," she said, adding that Aeon is in discussions with UMMC to further explore support for parents facing different challenges.

A recipient of the initiative, Chan Sook Hwa, 42, who recently gave birth at UMMC, expressed gratitude to AEON Malaysia for including her in this initiative.

She said the benefits will be used to buy newborn essentials such as disposable napkins and powders that need to be used for a very long time.
