SEKINCHAN: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today visited the Paddy Gallery and Rice Market in Sekinchan.

His Majesty was greeted upon arrival at 10am by Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

Also present was Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.

The Paddy Gallery, which is built in a rice mill owned by PLS Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd, is an attraction for tourists to learn about the history of local paddy cultivation.

At the event, His Majesty also tried his hands at operating a harvesting and padi planting machine.

The King also visited PLS's new five-storey factory building and enjoyed the beautiful view of the rice fields and the surrounding area from the rooftop of the building.

Al-Sultan Abdullah, on behalf of the Pahang government, also received a donation of 10 metric tonnes of rice from PLS for the victims of the disaster in Pahang.–BERNAMA
