Pas president's health stable, no visitors allowed during treatment at IJN

KUALA TERENGGANU: Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang, currently undergoing treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN), is reported to be in stable condition.

However, he is not permitted to receive visitors at this time, according to his political secretary, Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman.

While Hadi's health is improving, he said the Marang member of parliament remains under monitoring, and the expectation is that he will be discharged from IJN soon.

"Although his health is becoming stable and still requires monitoring, he is not allowed to receive visitors," he said when contacted today.

Hadi, 76, was reported to be at IJN for a heart examination since Jan 1.

Responding to claims that Hadi declined a visit from the prime minister, Syahir clarified that Hadi happened to be in another unit for treatment when the Tambun MP dropped by for a visit at about 2.30pm yesterday.

"We informed Anwar's officer about the treatment schedule of tuan guru (Hadi) around noon.

"But (Datuk Seri) Anwar (Ibrahim) still came to visit his friend, Professor Ziauddin (Sardar), who happened to be undergoing treatment in another ward at IJN," he said.
