Tun M still undergoing treatment at IJN, wishes Malaysians blessed Ramadan

KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is still undergoing treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) due to an infection he has been experiencing since January.

"Hasmah and I would like to wish all Muslims a blessed fasting month and Ramadan," he said in a statement today.

"Alhamdulillah, we are grateful to have this opportunity to meet and engage in worship and deeds during this very special month for Muslims. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone who has prayed for my and Hasmah's health and well-being".

"Alhamdulillah, my health condition is improving thanks to the prayers and diligent efforts of the doctors, nurses, and staff at IJN," he said.

He said he hoped to recover soon and be allowed to return home.

"So far, sometimes I am allowed to return home briefly or for 'home leave' by the specialists here, but I still need to stay overnight at IJN," he added.
