Padu: Special briefing session for Perak assemblymen on January 18

TANJUNG MALIM: The Perak government will convene a special briefing session for all state assemblymen, including the opposition, on January 18, to explain and facilitate the dissemination of information on the Central Database Hub (Padu) system to the public.

State Communications, Multimedia and NGO Committee chairman, Mohd Azlan Helmi, said the briefing session organised by the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), will cover the objectives, directions, and the best ways to collaborate with each assemblyman to facilitate public registration in the Padu system.

"I'm confident that all our assemblymen, including the opposition, will give their full cooperation to ensure the success of this agenda to promote the system in Perak," he told reporters here today (January 9).

Meanwhile, Mohd Azlan said that 70 Digital Economy centres (PEDi) would serve as the primary platform or facility for the state government to ensure that the target of registering 1.8 million people in Perak under Padu is achieved.

"At each PEDi, we have stationed officers from the Information Department and DOSM to assist the public, including senior citizens and Persons with Disabilities (PwD), to register with Padu," he said.

Padu is the national integrated socio-economic database that combines data from government departments and agencies. It was launched in line with the country's digital transformation approach, ensuring that every government service will be enjoyed by deserving recipients.

Padu registration is open to the public from January 2 till March 31, and users can update and verify 39 personal details, including identification numbers, number of household members and their addresses. — BERNAMA
