Padu registrations concluded: Chief Statistician thanks Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR: Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin has thanked Malaysians who registered with the Central Database Hub (Padu) as the registration and information updating period ended yesterday.

In his Facebook post today, Uzir said the registration period was successful thanks to everyone who did so in time, ensuring smooth completion of the system updates before the deadline.

"Well done and congratulations to all.

"Insyallah, hopefully the first-cut results of the analytical and verification process can be released in mid-April," he said.

Padu is a government database that assists in policy making, primarily to determine eligible welfare and subsidy recipients.

Yesterday, as the deadline for registrations came to an end, Malaysians rushed to make sure their information was up to date.

In the final two days leading up to it, Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli said that there was a significant spike in registrations, possibly due to growing awareness and concerns on missing out.
