MANJUNG: The house and three vehicles belonging to Beruas member of parliament Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham caught fire, believed to be the result of a Molotov cocktail, early this morning.

Ngeh in a Facebook post said the fire was successfully contained, with no casualties reported.

Ngeh said he is expected to hold a press conference at Ayer Tawar Service Centre.

Meanwhile, Perak Fire and Rescue Department deputy director (Operations), Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the personnel form the Ayer Tawar Fire Station were dispatched to the location after receiving an emergency call at 3.05am.

"Upon arrival at the location, the personnel found a fire involving three cars in the parking area of the house, namely a Mercedes E300, a Honda CRV and a Toyota Hilux.

"The fire also spread to the ceiling and roof of the car garage. No one was injured and the operation ended at 4.44 am," he said.

Recently, the DAP MP gained widespread attention after he proposed that non-Muslims be included in the special committee to study the powers of the Syariah Court.

However, he later apologised and withdrew the proposal after being criticized by various parties.
