MELAKA: Pesta Gendang Nusantara 2024, a celebration of rhythmic artistry, concluded its grand performance on Jan 7.

This year's festival saw the participation of 31 groups, hailing not only from across Malaysia but also from the Nusantara region and various international locales, each showcasing their unique drumming talents.

The event was graced by dignitaries including Yang Dipertua Negeri Melaka Tun Dr Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam, and Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh, the Chief Minister of Melaka.

The highlight was a hologram presentation featuring Al Jufferi Jamari, a World Silat Champion, who symbolically drummed his way across locales, culminating in Melaka.

The ceremony's centrepiece was the handover of the drum to TYT Tun Seri Setia, marking the official opening with three beats.

The festival, hosted by Mayor Datuk Shadan Othman, attracted an estimated 15,000 attendees at Melaka City Council's City Square, underscoring the event's popularity.
