Johor Baru achieves record revenue collection for 2023

JOHOR BARU: Johor Baru City Council has reportedly achieved a record-breaking revenue collection of RM524.09 million in 2023, marking a significant increase of 23.3 per cent from the previous year.

As reported by Media Digital Johor, this financial milestone was shared by Johor Baru Mayor Datuk Mohd Noorazam Osman during the city council's Full Meeting No. 1/2024.

The recorded revenue encompasses tax collections, non-tax revenues, and other receipts.

"Furthermore, the performance report of the council's public complaint management for the previous year was also commendable, with 12,439 out of 14,760 complaints successfully resolved," the report said.

The city council has been actively collaborating with relevant agencies such as the Public Works Department and the Department of Irrigation and Drainage, among others, to address complaints that fall outside of its administrative jurisdiction.

In conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the city council's declaration, the launch of the GeoJB Portal version 3.0 was also held at the Johor Baru Integrated Operation Command Centre (JBIOCC) today. This initiative is part of the council's commitment to leveraging technology for enhanced civic management and engagement.

The new portal version is a step forward in city council's digital transformation efforts, aiming to provide better geographical information system services to the residents of Johor Baru.
