MELAKA: A mother could not hide her grief after her son was killed in an accident at the Taman Paya Emas traffic light junction when colliding with a car.

"Pity my son. He was tired and on his way home from work when the accident happened.

"When I watched the video footage of the accident that went viral, it was the car's (driver's) fault, not my son," said housewife Jamilah Said.

Jamilah was inconsolable and kept hugging family members while waiting for her son's remains at Hospital Melaka's the Forensics Department on Monday.

She said there were no drastic changes shown by Amir prior to the accident, although he was unusually quiet and did not eat as much.

"He was a good son and he would salam before heading out to work and yesterday was no different.

"It's just that over the past two to three days I noticed that he did not talk much and he ate bread when he got home from work and he constantly washed his new motorcycle.

"I did not know that there were signs that he would leave us," she said when met earlier.
